Plan Your Visit

The University Archives is generally open from 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday. Reading, handling, and taking notes from primary source materials takes time. Please plan your visit accordingly and allow ample time to work.  Review our contact page for location, hours, and links to holiday schedules.

Access and Use Regulations

Archival materials are usually one-of-a-kind items that cannot be replaced if they are damaged. When handled carefully, these materials will be available to future generations to use for research.

An archivist will be present during your research appointment, so they can help you with signing in, storing your belongings, and explaining how to handle archival materials.

Face masks are no longer required, but they are encouraged.

Researcher Registration Form

Researchers who are not related to the University and do not have a netID will need to present a valid ID and complete a Researcher Registration Form.  The registration process is required for the initial visit; researchers may simply sign in on subsequent visits during a one-year period.  Information gathered on this form is used only by the University Archives to document use of archival materials.
