Al Lowman

Biography

Albert Terry “Al” Lowman (1935-2013) was an author, historian, bibliophile, biographer, and folklorist. He attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College (now Texas State University), then completed his BA and MA at the University of Texas at Austin. An active member of the Hays County Historical Commission and a fellow and life member of the Texas State Historical Association, he worked for 21 years at the Institute of Texas Cultures.

LBJ100 Oral History Project

Lowman recounts a couple of stories that he heard from Cecil Evans, the retired president of the college. Evans had been a family friend for many years and told some stories about Lyndon Johnson.
